Transmitter: Journal for Undergraduate Social Science Research.

Welcome to the homepage of Transmitter: Journal for Undergraduate Social Science Research. Homed at the University of Derby, this is an open source journal for, and mostly by, undergraduate students in the social sciences. It is aimed at students in sociology and criminology – or those whose work falls within the themes and methodologies these disciplines suggest – but it will be open to all undergraduate students at institutions of Higher Education and British FE colleges.

Each issue of the journal will feature five articles featuring original work of between 3000 and 5000 words, one shorter discussion of research in progress (e.g. preliminary findings, ethical discussions, reflections on method), and a shorter critical essay of 1000-2000 words. The five articles and research discussion are open for submissions from students studying towards a Bachelor’s degree whilst the shorter essay is open for submissions from students

Students studying toward a degree may submit articles of between 3000-5000 words with an abstract of no more than 150 words. Students aged 16+ who are in postsecondary education but who have not yet enrolled on, or completed, a Bachelor’s degree may make submissions for the shorter critical essay.
